Credit recognition: putting what you already hold to work
Credit recognition acknowledges learning obtained elsewhere and converts it into credits on an IHETC programme. The review rests on three verifiable elements: skills validated, taught hours, credits earned.
What is reviewed, and on which documents
Credit recognition accepts teaching followed elsewhere as covering a unit of the target programme. The review rests on three elements: the skills genuinely validated, the taught hours and the credits earned. That is exactly why the catalogue publishes those three figures on every page: they form the common language between institutions. The remaining volume is established at admission, unit by unit.
- Three elements reviewed: skills, taught hours, credits
- Every catalogue page publishes those three figures
- The remaining volume is established at admission, unit by unit
The three elements that decide
A candidate presenting two validated years from elsewhere has them reviewed to join the Artificial Intelligence programme. Covered units are recognised, missing ones are added to their calendar. The Finance and Accounting programme works the same way for a professional arriving with an accounting certification.
Skills validated
Named one by one on your original record, they are mapped against the objectives of the target unit.
Taught hours
The figure that situates real effort. At IHETC, it follows from the credits: 10 hours per credit.
Credits earned
The common currency between institutions: it converts a record without reinterpreting every course title.
Programmes where recognition matters most
2 catalogue programmes put “Credit recognition” to work: 240 credits and 2400 taught hours in total. The official rule holds throughout — one credit stands for 25 hours of work, 10 of them taught. Every line below is recomputed from the programme page: level, duration, credits, taught volume and fees in Guinean francs appear exactly as filed in the official catalogue.
| Programme | Level | Duration | Volume | Fees |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Artificial Intelligence programme — Bac+5 level | Master's degree | 2 years | 120 credits · 1200 taught hours | 7 800 000 GNF per year |
| Finance and Accounting programme — Bac+5 level | Master's degree | 2 years | 120 credits · 1200 taught hours | 6 800 000 GNF per year |
