Cohort: the group you move forward with
A cohort brings together the students who enter a programme at the same time and move through it at the same pace. It gives the course its calendar, its group work and its peer reviews. Live sessions, group work and cross reviews all follow from it.
Entering together, moving together
A cohort is the group formed at the start of a programme. It shares a calendar, live sessions, group work and cross reviews. That is what separates a programme from a content library: the pace is held by a collective, questions asked benefit everyone, and submissions are compared between people tackling the same subject in the same week.

The collective moments of a programme
On the Computer Science programme, the cohort meets weekly in session and splits into teams on the capstone project. On the Entrepreneurship programme, it serves as the first audience: each person presents their business plan to the others before defending it before practitioners.
Live sessions
A shared time in the calendar, where everyone's questions benefit the whole cohort.
Group work
Teams formed on long projects, with roles rotating from one phase to the next.
Cross reviews
Everyone examines the work of two or three others against a shared, published grid.
Cohort checkpoints
Regular checkpoints where collective progress is measured in credits validated.
