Growing people or landing the projects

Two programmes lead to leadership through different doors. One takes the organisation through its people: recruitment, payroll, skills, employee relations. The other takes it through its projects: framing, budget, risks, delivery. Here are their levels, volumes and fees.

Two doors into leadership

Human resources work over time: building a team, paying it fairly, growing its skills, holding the employment framework and settling individual situations. Project management works to a deadline: bringing together people who do not report to you, holding a budget, arbitrating between schedule and scope, delivering. Both ultimately require the same thing — a commitment kept by others — and obtain it through different levers.

What should carry your decision

What keeps you up

A team to grow over three years, or a deadline to hold in six weeks: both pleasures are real and point to two programmes.

The level you target

The table gives both registers: one is joined after secondary school, the other after a first cycle. Your starting point often decides on its own.

Your natural next step

The roles each one opens are listed in the occupational titles catalogue: browse them to recognise the one that resembles you.

Useful clarifications

Is project management taught within human resources?

Yes, as a method for leading change and rolling out internal schemes: it is one block of the programme, described on the programme page.

Is team leadership covered on both sides?

Yes, from two angles: the lasting animation of a collective on one side, the mobilisation of a temporary project team on the other.

Can you move from one to the other afterwards?

Yes, through a targeted certificate taken while keeping your job: blocks already validated lighten the path.
