Protecting people or keeping the machines running
On an industrial site, two trades cross paths daily in the same workshop. One organises prevention and compliance, the other equipment availability. Two programmes at the same level prepare for them. Here are their blocks, volumes and fees, side by side.
Two responsibilities on the same site
Health, safety and environment organise the work so that everyone goes home intact: risk assessment, work permits, collective protection, event reporting, action plans. Industrial maintenance organises the equipment so that production holds: mechanics, hydraulics, electricity, diagnosis, planned preventive work. The two talk to each other constantly, particularly around lockouts and sensitive interventions.
What each route expects of you
Health, Industrial Safety and Environment
No technical prerequisite. Any experience of an industrial site, however short, makes the first year far more concrete.
Industrial Maintenance and Energy
Secondary-level physics and mechanics. The practical exercises assume fitness for workshop work.

What tips the balance
What you want to hold
The framework that protects teams and commits management, or the availability of the machines that keep production running.
Your relation to the shop floor
One is practised by analysing, training and writing; the other by dismantling, measuring and bringing back online.
The titles you target next
Both open named occupational titles, from operational level to site leadership: the catalogue lists them.
Questions asked before enrolling
Can these programmes be taken while working on site?
Yes: the table gives both paces and both weekly loads, designed around ongoing industrial work.
Is practical work based on real installations?
Case studies are built on West African installations and on the frameworks used on sites across the region.
Can the two competencies be combined?
Yes, through a short certificate dedicated to site safety, which adds to a maintenance profile without starting a full programme again.
