Industrial storekeeper and stock manager
The store is where tied-up money turns into production. The industrial storekeeper receives, checks, shelves, issues and counts — and their rigour decides how long a maintenance team spends looking for a part instead of repairing.
What happens in the store
The day starts with receiving: quantity check, quality check, matching against the order, handling discrepancies. Then comes location coding — every reference has a place, and that place is recorded. Issues punctuate the morning, with an issue note, and the discipline of recording at the moment of serving. Cycle counting takes a fixed slot each week: count one family of references, compare with book stock, explain the gap rather than quietly correcting it.
- Check a delivery and handle a supplier dispute
- Locate, shelve and retrieve a reference in under a minute
- Serve a parts request and record the issue in real time
- Run a cycle count and account for the gaps found
Where stores are run
- Spare-parts stores on mining and industrial sites
- Distribution warehouses and consolidation platforms
- Site camps and logistics bases for civil engineering projects
- Central pharmacies, hospital stores and purchasing bodies
- Technical trading and agricultural equipment companies
Duration, credits, hours: the facts
The hours shown are taught hours, led by an instructor and set in the timetable. Personal study comes on top of them under the catalogue rule: twenty-five hours of total work per credit. Both figures are given together so that the real workload reads clearly on a first visit.
