Practical guides
Sitting a certifying assessment
An assessment counting towards the award includes an identity check and is held on a published date. This guide describes the full running order, the conditions to meet and what that arrangement brings to the value of your award.
What the identity check protects
A certifying assessment includes identity verification, and it is a protection before it is a constraint: a credential someone can sit in another's place protects nobody, starting with the person who holds it. It is that check, together with marking by a named person, that gives the award its value before an employer.
- Identity verification at the start of the assessment
- A date published in the academic year calendar
- An assessed output, marked by a named person
- Written feedback on what was missing, beyond the score
How the assessment runs
- 01
The day before — prepare conditions
Device charged, identity document to hand, a quiet slot reserved and the connection checked at the planned time.
- 02
At the opening — identity verification
It precedes the assessment and takes a few minutes. It is what makes what you submit count as certifying.
- 03
During — produce, not recite
The assessment bears on an output: constructed, argued work, exactly as the module prepared you for.
- 04
At the end — check the upload
The submission receipt confirms delivery. Offline, the queue uploads when the signal returns.
- 05
After — the named feedback
The mark is settled by a person, with written feedback on what was missing. A review remains a right.
What the award attests
The document issued at the end of your path carries the programme title, its date, and the detail of validated skills. It comes with a descriptive supplement and a public verification link an employer opens without an account or a phone call: that complete chain is what makes the result stand up.
- The award of the programme completed — Bachelor's degree or Master's degree by level
- A professional certificate for short and executive formats
- A descriptive supplement detailing validated competencies, unit by unit
- A public verification link an employer opens with no account and no phone call
The certifying frame in figures

Questions about the certifying assessment
How does identity verification work?
It happens at the opening of the assessment and takes a few minutes, identity document in hand. It applies to assessments counting towards the award, and only those: practice work is submitted freely.
Who settles the final mark?
A named person. Settling a certifying mark and issuing an award are on the closed list of acts reserved to people, published in our governance: no automated system takes them.
What happens if the connection drops during the assessment?
Your work stays saved on the device and uploads when the signal returns, like any submission. Report the outage with your reference: the situation is examined and a written answer arrives within the stated turnaround.
Can an employer verify the result?
Yes, through the public verification link carried by the issued document. It opens without an account and shows the title, the date and the validated skills: verification happens without involving you, which is what makes it actually used.
