Capstone project: one real case, start to finish
The capstone project runs across the programme: a single subject, revisited in every unit, enriched as the skills arrive. At the end, you hold one complete piece of work, and it is yours. It carries its own hours and its own credits, year after year.

The capstone project is a long piece of work, carried across the whole programme, receiving from each course unit what that unit brings. It has its own hours and its own credits, and it spans several years — which the catalogue records as a range of years on the relevant unit. It produces the piece you later show: one complete, documented, defended piece of work.

The four deliverables of a capstone
On the Computer Science programme, the capstone is an application taken from the need to the live service: design, database, interface, testing, deployment. On the Design and User Experience programme, it is a product carried from field research to a prototype tested with real users.

1 — Framing
The subject is chosen and approved: a real need, a workable scope, a success criterion stated from the outset.

A complete but minimal build, delivered early, that puts the initial assumptions to the test.

Each course unit adds its layer: security, data, steering, quality, scaling up.

4 — The defence
The project is presented and defended before a panel, with documentation and measured results.
