Portfolio: what you show after the programme
A portfolio gathers your work, each piece with its context, method and outcome. It is the item a recruiter opens first, and the only one that demonstrates a skill rather than asserting it. Three solid pieces beat a long list: the reader judges depth.
Showing rather than asserting
A portfolio is a commented selection of work. Each piece carries four elements: the context and the original request, the method chosen, the result obtained and what you take from it. Three solid pieces beat a long list: the reader judges depth, not volume. Creative and digital programmes produce one throughout the course of study.
- Context, method, result and lesson for every piece
- Three deep pieces beat a long list
- It is built during the programme, not afterwards
The anatomy of one piece
The Design and User Experience programme produces a complete portfolio: field research, mockups, user tests, documented iterations. The Website Creation course leaves three live sites behind, and the Community Management course a set of campaigns with figures and an editorial calendar to back them.
The context
For whom, why, and under what constraints of time, budget and available data.
The method
The choices made, those set aside, and the reason for each: this is what separates a professional from an executor.
The result
What was delivered, measured where possible, with evidence of it going live.
The lesson
What you would do differently today. A recruiter reads your capacity to improve on your own.
Programmes that produce a portfolio
3 catalogue programmes put “Portfolio” to work: 130 credits and 1300 taught hours in total. The official rule holds throughout — one credit stands for 25 hours of work, 10 of them taught. Every line below is recomputed from the programme page: level, duration, credits, taught volume and fees in Guinean francs appear exactly as filed in the official catalogue.
| Programme | Level | Duration | Volume | Fees |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| User Experience Design and Digital Creation | Bachelor's degree | 2 years | 120 credits · 1200 taught hours | 4 800 000 GNF per year |
| Website Creation | Short course | 3 months | 6 credits · 60 taught hours | 1 400 000 GNF in total |
| Community Management | Short course | 2 months | 4 credits · 40 taught hours | 1 000 000 GNF in total |
Points that come up often
Does the institute provide the portfolio?
You produce it yourself during the programme, from the real projects it includes. Supervision covers the selection and the way each piece is presented.
How many pieces should it show?
Three to five, chosen for their variety and depth. Each tells a context, a method and a result.
Does a portfolio stand in for a CV?
It sits alongside it: the CV situates your record, the portfolio proves it. The two are read together in interviews.
