Synchronous: the moment everyone is present
Synchronous time brings instructor and cohort together at the same moment. That is where open questions, trade-offs and everything that gains from immediate exchange get handled. Live classes, workshops, reviews and defences all belong to this mode.
Shared time, to the minute
Synchronous mode covers the times when instructor and students are present together: live class, guided workshop, production review, defence, scheduled gathering. It concentrates what gains from immediacy — trade-offs, open questions, methodological disagreement — and leaves to asynchronous work whatever is better carried alone and at your own pace.

What live time handles best
The Management and Project Management programme devotes its live time to trade-offs: scope against schedule, quality against budget. The Multi-site Management certification does the same on coordination cases between locations, where the decision is argued and defended before peers.
