Glossary
OHADA: business law shared by seventeen states
OHADA harmonises business law across much of West and Central Africa. Its uniform acts apply directly: companies, security interests, debt recovery, accounting, insolvency procedures. A skill acquired in Conakry therefore holds across the whole zone.
A common law, directly applicable
The Organisation for the Harmonisation of Business Law in Africa produces uniform acts that apply directly in its member states, Guinea included. A company incorporated in Conakry falls under the same text as one in Abidjan or Douala: same corporate forms, same accounting, same security interests, same recovery procedures. That is what makes a legal skill valid across the region.

The uniform acts most drawn on
The Business Law and OHADA Compliance programme has candidates draft the deeds that structure a company: articles of association, share transfers, security over an asset, formal notice. The Finance and OHADA Compliance certificate approaches the same framework through accounting and control, for a professional already in post.
Company law
Corporate forms, incorporation, governance, share transfers and conversion: the base of any transaction.
Security interests
Personal and real guarantees, registration, ranking and enforcement: what secures a financing.
Debt recovery
Payment orders, enforcement routes, time limits: the full chain for recovering a receivable.
Accounting
The shared accounting framework, its financial statements and its filing obligations.

What we get asked about “OHADA”
Does OHADA apply in Guinea?
Yes. Guinea is a member state, and the uniform acts take direct effect there.
Do these programmes need a legal background?
The prerequisite appears on each page. The long programme installs the base; the certificate addresses a professional already working within the framework.
Does the skill hold outside Guinea?
Since the law is shared across member states, the skill travels throughout the zone, local practice aside.
