Careers

Design and user experience manager

Making all of an organisation's products look alike, read alike and improve quickly: the design manager installs a method, a system and a team. A function judged on consistency, not on effect.

Installing a method that outlives projects

User research gives design its arguments: interviews, tests, observation of real usage, customer service feedback. The design system then turns those lessons into reusable, documented components adopted by developers. Team leadership follows — allocating, reviewing, developing people. Governance closes the loop: deciding what enters the system, arbitrating an exception, holding coherence when several teams ship in parallel.

  • Organise user research and draw product decisions from it
  • Build and govern a shared design system
  • Lead a team of designers and review their output
  • Defend an experience decision before an executive team

Structures that are hiring

Financial groups

Consumer apps and internal tools: coherence to hold across dozens of screens and several teams.

Service platforms

Experience is the main competitive advantage there, and the function reports directly to the executive team.

Agencies and studios

Directing several client projects at once, with a shared method that guarantees delivered quality.

What the institute puts in writing

A duration, taught hours, credits and a level of responsibility: these are the four commitments the institute makes on this programme, and they are public. You will find them identical on the qualification page, in the official catalogue and on the certificate issued at the end. One figure, three surfaces, no divergence.

The blocks that make up the framework

The framework is split into self-contained blocks, each with its own taught hours. That split serves three purposes: organising the training, organising the assessment, and letting an already experienced professional have what they already command recognised. The same structure is what makes prior-learning validation possible.

Towards design leadership

This table sets side by side what genuinely prepares for this role. Credits and taught hours measure the gap between two options; fees relate that gap to a budget. Those are the three questions a candidate asks, and the three answers sit on a single row.
