Business unit manager
A branch, a store, a profit centre: the unit manager holds revenue, team, inventory, service quality and rule compliance all at once. It is the first general management post, at reduced scale.
Running a unit like a business
The unit manager reads their profit and loss like an owner: revenue, margin, payroll, fixed costs. From it they draw concrete decisions — changing opening hours, revising a product range, negotiating a local contract. Leading the team fills most of the day, on the floor rather than in an office. On top come inventory, the service quality customers perceive, and compliance with group rules as much as local regulation.
- Read a unit profit and loss and act on its lines
- Lead a team daily and organise rosters
- Steer inventory, local purchasing and shrinkage
- Hold service quality and compliance with group rules
The units to be run
- Bank branches and microfinance service points

Duration, credits, hours: the facts
The hours shown are taught hours, led by an instructor and set in the timetable. Personal study comes on top of them under the catalogue rule: twenty-five hours of total work per credit. Both figures are given together so that the real workload reads clearly on a first visit.

What the qualification actually contains
Here is the framework exactly as filed, with the taught hours of each block. A candidate sees what they will learn; an employer sees what the holder can do on arrival. One document serves both readings, which closes the usual gap between a brochure and a job description.

Answers to the most frequent questions
Is this role suited outside Conakry?
That is where it takes on its full dimension: a unit far from head office calls for more autonomy, and that is where the responsibility is exercised most fully. Banking and retail networks regularly open these roles in the regions.
How do I move to multi-site responsibility?
The multi-site management certificate installs the tools specific to that move: remote steering, shared standards, animating a network of managers. It runs over four months and prepares directly for the next level.
