What a partnership agreement sets down in writing
A useful agreement fits in a few clauses and answers four questions: who does what, over what perimeter, with what turnaround commitments, and what becomes of content and data at the end. Here is the structure we propose, and what each party commits to.
The six clauses that suffice
A twenty-page agreement defers the difficulty to the moment of dispute; six precise clauses handle it at signature. Each clause below is drafted in a few lines and read in five minutes by a legal department.
| Clause | What it sets | What each party commits |
|---|---|---|
| Perimeter | Populations, topics, sites and duration covered | You name the populations, we name the content |
| Roles | Who decides, who administers, who answers | One named, reachable lead on each side |
| Turnarounds | Opening, production, updates, reporting back | Firm dates, not orders of magnitude |
| Content | What belongs to you and what stays in the base | The content produced for you belongs to you |
| Data | What is collected, why, and who accesses it | A permanent export, with no prior request |
| Exit | What you take away and in what format | Content and tracking, exportable to the last day |
What the institution commits to
These commitments appear in the agreement and are verifiable on record. They cover what depends on us: teaching delivery, the record produced and the availability of your data.
- A named academic lead, accountable for the design throughout the term
- Human sign-off before publication of every piece of content produced for you
- Content freeze during a session, so a whole group receives the same teaching
- A dated export permanently available, with no request and no charge
- Return of your source documents on the terms written into the agreement
Institutional partnerships
A public body, a professional grouping or a capacity-building project sponsor works under its own constraints: equal treatment across territories, execution reporting, funding milestones. The agreement is then written around those three requirements.
Equal treatment
The same content and the same assessment whatever the posting. It is the requirement that drives the design.
The execution report
A dated statement, consolidated by directorate and region, usable as is with no re-keying.
Funding milestones
Each milestone matches an identifiable, dated delivery, which makes reconciliation immediate.
Access in real conditions
Modest equipment and irregular connectivity handled by design, so coverage is real everywhere.
Legal and contractual questions
For how long is an agreement signed?
For the duration of the scheme described, with express rather than automatic renewal. Renewal that requires action to stop puts the burden on the client; express renewal makes both parties confirm the scheme still serves its purpose, which is the right yearly conversation to have.
What happens to content produced for us if we stop?
It belongs to you and exports in a format usable elsewhere, with its materials, exercises and assessment grid. That export is available throughout the relationship, not only at the end: reversibility that requires asking your supplier for access exists on paper only.
Can you sign our own agreement template?
Yes, and it is the most frequent case with public bodies and large groups. We read it, flag the points where our turnaround and return commitments need their own wording, and sign. The six topics listed above are the ones we check are present, whatever template is used.
