Aiming at technical mastery or at management responsibility

The official catalogue arranges its occupational titles across four steps of responsibility. Two of them concentrate most orientation decisions: the senior technician step and the manager step. Here is what each covers, with the catalogue's real volumes.

What a step describes

A level does not denote a length of study: it denotes what its holder is deemed able to handle unaided. At level 5, the senior technician commands a technique and leads a small team within a perimeter defined by others. At level 6, the manager defines that perimeter themselves, arbitrates resources and answers for results before leadership. The catalogue assigns each title its level, credits and supervised hours.
