Two depths for the same subject
Two paths cross applied artificial intelligence. The first settles you in for two full years and has you build complete systems. The second gives you professional command of it in a few months, in a role you already hold. Here are both, on one grid.
What each format installs
A long programme builds depth: you start from mathematics and programming, work up to model architectures, and finish on an assessed capstone project. A certificate starts from the other end: it takes a professional already in post and equips them to run a real use case end to end, from framing to go-live. Both award verifiable proof, publish their hours block by block, and are assessed on work you produce rather than on an examination paper.
- The long programme opens design and technical leadership roles
- The certificate acts on the job you hold, while you hold it
- Both rest on the same credit rule from the official catalogue
- Both publish their fees in Guinean francs, with no quote needed
What each one assumes you know
Artificial Intelligence programme — Bac+5 level
Programming in Python and reading code written by someone else. Linear algebra and probability at Bac+3 level: they are not taught again.
Applied AI for Business Certificate
No technical or programming prerequisite. You need to know your organisation's processes: all the work bears on them.

How to choose
Your horizon
You are aiming at a design role three years out: the long programme takes you there. You want a result in your current role this term: the certificate is built for that.
Your week
Compare the two weekly workloads in the table with what your diary genuinely frees up. That is the figure that decides whether you finish.
Your starting point
Reread the two prerequisites above: the one you already hold points to the format where you will feel at home from day one.
Frequent questions
Can I do both in sequence?
Yes. The certificate is taken while you work, and its competency record is reviewed on entry to the long programme: blocks already validated are recognised.
Are credits calculated the same way?
Yes, and it is the official catalogue rule: one credit is twenty-five hours of work, of which 10 are supervised. Both columns in the table are therefore directly comparable.
What proof does a recruiter receive?
Each format awards its own credential, with the list of validated blocks and a public verification page the recruiter checks directly.
Are fees paid the same way?
The long programme is paid yearly, the certificate once for the whole course. The table shows the unit for each amount.
