Organic search for a small company

Organic search means answering, better than anyone else, the questions your customers already type. It rests on three pillars: the words actually used, pages that answer, and a technically sound site.

Start from your customers' words

A company describes its offer in its internal vocabulary; its customers search for it in theirs. The work therefore starts by gathering the real phrasings — from phone enquiries, messages, questions asked in the shop — and checking which ones are actually typed. Each retained phrasing becomes a page that fully answers it. One page per intent, never one page trying to cover five: that is the principle producing the most effect for the least effort.

  • The real phrasings, gathered from customers before any tool
  • One page per search intent, answering it in full
  • A title and description stating exactly what the page holds
  • A heading structure that tells the page without reading it
  • Internal linking that connects the pages of one subject

The three pillars, in the order that matters

  1. 01

    Content that answers

One complete page on a precise question beats ten that skim it. This is the most profitable pillar.

  2. 02

    Technical health

Reachable pages, fast loading, stable addresses, an up-to-date sitemap: the foundations are laid once.

  3. 03

    Inbound links

A useful resource gets cited. Links are earned by content, which makes the order of the pillars logical.

  4. 04

    Monthly measurement

The queries bringing visits guide the next pages. The next subject comes from the data.

Questions from business owners

How long before an effect is measurable?

First rankings on precise queries appear within weeks; a durable position on a competitive query is built over several months of regular publishing. Monthly measurement makes that progression legible from the first cycle.

How many pages should I publish?

As many as you have distinct customer questions, and one per question. A service business usually has around ten, covering almost every enquiry received: the list is built by listening to the phone for a week.

Does organic search replace advertising?

The two complement and inform each other: advertising reveals converting phrasings within days, organic search turns them into lasting visibility. The digital marketing programme works both in separate blocks.
