A Bac+5-level engineering programme focused on machine learning, deep learning and language models. The programme insists on deployment: a model nobody uses has no value. Projects rely on African datasets.

Learning objectives

  • Turn a business problem into a machine learning problem
  • Train, evaluate and diagnose supervised and unsupervised models
  • Build applications on top of large language models
  • Deploy and monitor a model in production over time

Curriculum

1200 hours · 120 credits

Year 1700 hours

  1. Mathematics for AI

    220 hours · 22 credits

  2. Deployment and monitoring

    140 hours · 14 credits

Industrialisation, inference services, drift monitoring, retraining, running costs

  3. Ethics, bias and sovereignty

    100 hours · 10 credits

  4. Applied research dissertation and sixteen-week placement

    60 hours · 6 credits

Original work carried out with a laboratory or an organisation, publicly defended

Real prerequisite

What follows is assumed and will not be explained again. If most of it is foreign to you, this is not the right entry point — better to know now than at the final assessment.

Programming in Python and reading code written by someone else. Linear algebra and probability at Bac+3 level: they are not taught again.

Entry requirements

  • Bac+3 level in computer science, applied mathematics or an equivalent field
  • Solid Python programming foundations checked by an entry test
  • Technical and motivation interview
