The document that closes a long programme

A long programme ends with a personal document carrying the exact title taken, the credits validated, the supervised hours and a public verification reference. Here is its content, line by line, and what a third party does with it.

What the document carries, line by line

The document is personal and reads in a minute. It states eight pieces of information, always the same ones, in the same order, whatever the programme taken. That regularity is what lets an HR department compare two documents without interpreting them: it knows where to look.

  • Your first and last name, as they appear on the identity document shown at enrolment
  • The official programme title, taken from the filed catalogue
  • What is awarded: Bachelor's degree or Master's degree
  • The entry level and the effective duration of the programme
  • Total credits validated and the matching volume of supervised hours
  • The date of award and the cohort year
  • The verification reference, to be opened on the public page
  • The reference of the MESRS order under which the institution awards

Four long programmes, their real figures

The columns below are the ones an equivalence office recalculates first. They come from the filed catalogue, and the site displays them as they stand across 18 long programmes.

How a third party checks it

Four moves are enough, and the last one stays open permanently. A recruiter handling two hundred applications gives each a few seconds: the chain below fits that budget.

  1. 01

    Read the reference

It appears at the foot of the document, in plain text. It can be typed by hand in seconds.

  2. 02

    Open the public page

Verification happens on /verifier, freely accessible, in both languages of the site.

  3. 03

    Compare the four lines

Title, level, date, status. They are the same four lines as on the paper document.

  4. 04

    Write to the institution

Any request quoting a reference gets a substantive answer, including when the reference is unknown to our registers.

The calculation rule behind every credit

A credit stands for the same work everywhere in the catalogue. That constant is what makes two documents comparable, and what lets an employer convert a line of credits into hours.

Official catalogue rule, identical across both families of documents.

What we are asked most often

Is the document issued in French and English?

It is issued in French, and the public verification page displays the same information in both languages. An English-speaking employer therefore reads the reference with no intermediate translation, which is the real use case for an application outside the sub-region.

How long does the reference stay open?

Indefinitely. An issued reference stays open, because a recruiter may want to check it ten years after the award, at the time of an internal promotion or a change of employer.

Can I get a second copy?

Yes, on a simple written request from the contact address, quoting the reference. The copy carries the same verification reference as the original: that is what lets an employer treat both as one and the same document.

Is the transcript attached?

It is issued alongside the document, and it carries the detail module by module. The two are read together: the document says what was obtained, the transcript says how. A whole page in this section is devoted to it.
