Studying from Fria

Fria is a factory town: bauxite processing, energy, workshops and industrial know-how passed on locally. You follow an IHETC programme online, turning that technical culture into certified competence.

Formalising know-how already in place

A Fria technician knows the plant better than a manual. The programme starts from that and works on what surrounds it: diagnostic method, intervention records, the preventive plan, availability calculation and team leadership. Modules are followed at hours you choose, offline if needed, and the work required concerns equipment you know — which makes assessment demanding and the time invested immediately useful.

What you decide from Fria

  • The time and place of every study session
  • The order of modules within a period
  • The cadence of your payments
  • The subject of your project, drawn from your own work

What the institute holds for you

  • The assessment calendar, published from day one
  • The marking of your work and its written feedback
  • A tutor available at any hour, anchored in your course
  • A timestamped certificate and its public verification link

An established industrial culture

Fria was built around turning bauxite into alumina, and the town kept that organisation: workshops, boilermaking, industrial electrics, process control, laboratory, power generation and logistics. It holds a rare density of technical craft, passed from one generation of workers to the next. What training adds here is not the craft, which is present, but its formalisation: frameworks, diagnostic method, a written maintenance plan, and a qualification that makes the skill readable outside the plant.

  • Bauxite processing and chemical operations
  • Boilermaking, mechanics and industrial electrics

Settling your fees from Fria

Fees are denominated in Guinean francs and settled from Fria by bank transfer or mobile money. A technical department enrolling several of its staff receives a single invoice detailing each path, its supervised hours and its credits, while every certificate remains issued in the name of the person assessed. The list of what your fees cover is complete: all the content of the path, supervision, marking, the tutor, assessments and scheduled resits, the certificate and its public verification.

Questions asked from Fria

I have twenty years on the job. Where do I start?

At the level matching the responsibility you already hold, not the qualification you carry. Levels are defined by what the person decides and steers: holding a post, leading a team, committing a department. The admission interview exists to place that with you.

Are assessments based on real cases?

Yes: maintenance plan, root-cause analysis, failure investigation, intervention file. You can build them on your own equipment, and the marker assesses method and soundness of reasoning rather than recall of the course.

Can I take several paths in a row?

Yes, and it is the most common route: a short format first, a certified path afterwards. What has been validated stays validated and is not repeated, and content already followed remains available throughout the rest of the journey.
