Finance and administration manager
Accounting, cash, budget, tax, administration: the finance and administration manager holds it all together and informs the owner's decisions. In an SME or a subsidiary, it is the role that gives the business its visibility.
From recorded figures to decided figures
The function begins where accounting stops. The manager produces closings on tight deadlines, then turns them into useful information: margin by activity, variance to budget, three-month cash forecast. They negotiate with banks, arbitrate payments in tight periods, prepare funding files. The administrative side completes the whole — insurance, contracts, filing obligations — and it is what protects the company on the day of an inspection.
- Produce a fast, reliable close, monthly and annual
- Build a budget, track variances and explain every drift
- Steer cash and negotiate banking facilities
- Secure tax, social and contractual obligations
Where the function exists
- Structured SMEs in trade, services and industry
- Subsidiaries of international groups operating in the region
- Externally funded organisations reporting to donors
- Health facilities, school groups and associations
- Civil works companies running several sites at once
The four figures that decide
How long, how many hours in the room or online, how many credits, for what level of responsibility: those four answers are enough to know whether the programme fits your calendar and your plan. They sit here, at the top of the page, rather than at the end of a call with an adviser.

Manager and professional
Led by an instructor.
1 credit = 25 h of work, 10 of them taught.
Framework of the « Finance and Administration Manager » qualification, code TP22.
How the framework is built
A professional qualification reads through its blocks: they state what the holder can run alone, and under what conditions. The hours attached to each block show where the framework places the effort. That distribution is a design decision, it is published as such, and it compares block by block with any other programme.
| Competency block | What it covers | Taught hours |
|---|---|---|
| Accounting and closing | Supervising bookkeeping, closing work, financial statements, dealing with the auditor | 200 h |
| Management control and budgeting | Budget, variance monitoring, costs, management dashboards | 200 h |
| Treasury and financing | Cash planning, banking relations, working-capital finance, currency risk | 180 h |
| Tax, social and legal | Filings, audits, social obligations, contracts, compliance | 170 h |
| Managerial conduct | Reporting to the owner, leading a team, ethics and whistleblowing | 50 h |
Towards financial responsibility
The path to this occupation is chosen on facts: how long, how many hours with an instructor, how many recognised credits and what amount in Guinean francs. The table gathers them for every open option, in the order a candidate reviews them before filing an application.
| Programme | Duration | Credits | Taught hours | Fees |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Finance and Accounting programme — Bac+5 level · Master's degree | 2 years | 120 | 1200 h | 6 800 000 GNF per year |
| Certificate in OHADA Finance and Compliance · Professional certification | 6 months | 18 | 180 h | 4 200 000 GNF in total |
What you want to know before choosing
Do I need an accounting background?
It is the most solid route, because it gives command of the raw material. The qualification adds what an experienced accountant needs to take the function: budget, cash forecasting, management control and banking relations.
Is management control part of it?
Fully: activity costing, dashboards, variance analysis. The business intelligence and steering programme extends that side for those wishing to industrialise their reporting and automate indicator production.
What progression beyond?
The chief financial officer, at level 7, carries financial strategy, funding structure and shareholder relations. The move usually happens after several full financial years run independently.
