Preventive maintenance: acting before the failure
Preventive maintenance schedules interventions before a failure appears, based on a period or a condition indicator. It turns an unplanned stop into a chosen one. The maintenance plan sets its content, its frequency and its workload.

Preventive maintenance covers interventions scheduled before failure. Two logics trigger it: periodicity, based on running hours or the calendar, and condition, based on a measured indicator such as vibration, temperature or oil analysis. Two triggering logics
The Industrial Maintenance and Energy programme has candidates build a full plan for a fleet of equipment, with intervention schedules and the associated workload. The Networks and Cloud Computing programme applies the same logic to systems: update windows, health checks and planned switchover.
