Three formats, three uses

The right format is not the most complete one: it is the one you will finish. Choose first by the time you actually have.

A few hours — micro-credential

One precise, isolated, assessed skill. Useful when a need appears within the week: a formula, a tool, a procedure. It is also the best way to test whether a field suits you before committing weeks to it.

A few weeks — professional certification

A coherent set covering a role. This is the format that weighs on a CV, because it carries verifiable proof and an assessment with a threshold. It is also the most abandoned, for lack of having blocked out the time at the start.

Intensive — bootcamp

A supported career change, built around a real project. Time-demanding: only commit if the slot is genuinely reserved. A bootcamp taken in spare moments produces a dropout, not a career change.
